“During peak covid, after the first few rounds of layoffs/downsizing... our Optical BU at FGX had shrunk essentially by half... Tim Swartz (my VP) and I were now responsible for covering the desks of 2 National Account Managers and directly managing our field sales force; in addition to our already current responsibilities. It was a stressful time to say the least.. Then we found Vanessa.. She joined us as an account manager at the peak of adversity... Vanessa was able to jump in and add value on day 1... Her KSAs are excellent (project management, active listening, communication, task management, organization, priority balancing, agility, work ethic, strategically minded, team leader, presentations, data/excel). She grasped complex processes and responsibilities immediately; and was able to independently lead accounts within a few weeks (which was extremely fast). I assisted Vanessa with taking over our Sam's Club optical account... during early product exploration discussions with our partners at Sam's; Vanessa immediately added value... she was able to effectively communicate and explore our partners interests for future quarterly offerings; she had a full list of great ideas by the end of the meeting. Vanessa has unlimited potential; and the knowledge, skills, and abilities to take on anything. The next opportunity I have to build a team.... she's on my priority list!”
