Every summer since 2004, I’ve volunteered at the Little League Baseball East Region Tournament in Bristol, Connecticut, my hometown and the final stop before the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport. In a leadership role, I work with dozens of volunteers, specifically within game operations and security. In a leadership role, I work with dozens of volunteers, specifically within game operations and security. Additionally, I serve as public address announcer, prepare weather guidance, provide technical support on the complex and manage a fleet of 36 two-way radios and other advanced communications equipment. During the off-season, I work on capital budget requests and propose operational improvements to regional staff members.

Honors & Awards

  • Director’s Award for Volunteer of the Year

Little League Baseball East Region Headquarters

Honored for year-round volunteer commitment to Little League’s Eastern Region Headquarters, along with Garett Argianas. 2017 marked a year of substantial change at the Eastern Region Headquarters. Longtime Eastern Region Director Don Soucy retired, and longtime Assistant Director Corey Wright was promoted to the top post in Bristol.

Longtime Eastern Region Director Don Soucy retired, and longtime Assistant Director Corey Wright was promoted to the top post in Bristol.

To ease that transition, Garett and I made the trip to Bristol, Connecticut about once per month throughout the spring and early summer to work on special projects. It’s a four-and-a-half hour ride for me, and just over an hour for Garett.

Our work included completing several capital projects, such as a new communications system for game operations; pitch count displays for the dugouts; improvements to the website; a centralized tournament information database; production of a couple items for the Gift Shop; and enhancements to our lightning safety protocol.

  • NBCUniversal GEM Award

    NBCUniversal

This award recognizes employees who have embraced NBCUniversal's culture of ownership by taking initiative, being proactive and actively contributing to NBC's collective success. GEM stands for "Going the Extra Mile."

  • Employee of the Quarter

    NBC Connecticut

Honored for successfully designing and launching Look N weather graphics in TWC MAX. This two-and-a-half month project involved extensive use of Photoshop and collaboration with multiple teams within NBC Owned Television Stations. The graphics are nearly fully automated while still pulling from our own customized forecast database. NBC Connecticut's weather graphics are now among the best in the country, thanks to Arthouse's vision and my ability to build on their initial design.

  • Service Award

    Penn State Department of Meteorology

An award infrequently given to acknowledge truly exceptional service provided to the department by a student. I was selected for new and timely innovations to the on-air and online footprint of the Campus Weather Service, including a full graphics overhaul and redesign in TruVu Max, impressive improvements in outreach via social media, and spearheading the Live Broadcast Team.

  • Director’s Award for Volunteer of the Year

Little League Baseball East Region Headquarters

Honored for my hundreds of hours of volunteer service in my sixth year volunteering and first on the Tournament Committee. It is not uncommon to volunteer 12-hour days for a week straight during tournament.
