Bittersweet. Don Soucy has been a tremendous leader for Little League Baseball. We are so lucky to have the beautiful, sprawling A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center based in Bristol, Connecticut.
Don played a vital role in the construction of the complex in Bristol, before I was born, in the early 1990s. He's impacted the lives of thousands of players, yes, but also the numerous young professionals who worked at the complex each summer while in college. I couldn't be more excited for my friend, Corey Wright, as he takes the helm! There is no one more qualified for the job.
I'm grateful that, like so many others, my first-ever employment came from Little League Baseball's Eastern Region Headquarters, in the summers of 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Even though I've moved north, I have every intention of continuing to volunteer at the tournament each August, something I've done since 2004.
