Our first Principal on the structural side, Ted Godfrey, PE is next on our #SNYLTurns20 highlights. 🎤When did you first become interested in architecture or engineering as a career? "I always recall having an interest in architecturally pleasing buildings. Engineering interest came later in high school." 🎤What has been your most proud moment as an architect/engineer? "A small project in Loveland, an elderly gentleman was very concerned about cracks in his foundation. I designed the fix and explained it to him." 🎤Do you remember your first day of college? What was it like? "Hectic, nervous, and fearful of getting lost. The amount of people was alarming, but I made it." 🎤What is one thing you enjoy doing outside of work? "Watching hockey, and spending time with my family." 🎤What is the greatest potential for architecture and/or engineering to shape a neighborhood community? "To provide an environment that is inviting, memorable and comfortable."

This is a prime example of the importance of a thorough preconstruction process. I preach to my team that the success of any project depends on meticulous planning during this phase. Our approach is designed with our customers’ best interests in mind. From detailed cost estimates to proactive risk management, we prioritize transparency and alignment with our clients’ vision and requirements. A well-executed preconstruction process helps anticipate and strategically mitigate challenges. Our design partner on this Second Presbyterian project shared: “Working only with a Letter of Intent from the church, Charles C. Brandt Construction has been very helpful in working with our Architect-Owner team to identify areas of potential cost savings prior to signing an Owner-Contractor agreement. They were able to identify a larger list of potential cost savings items than were necessary, but this allowed the church to choose only the items they were comfortable with. This was advantageous as it allowed the O-C agreement to be inclusive of these items, rather than negotiating them after the contract was signed.” By integrating essential insights from architects, engineers, and clients early on, we build a solid foundation that guides the entire project lifecycle, minimizing surprises and maximizing value. #CCBuilds #builtbyCCB #Preconstruction #ValueEngineering #BuildingSuccess

Conditions of Satisfaction (CoS) process doesn't get the attention it deserves! It is a tool that clearly and sussinctly describes the "raison D'etre" for the owner user group. It serves as a compass, guiding both current team members and newcomers on the purpose and goals of the project. 🛬 Tutor Perini Corporation unit, Roy Anderson Corp, lands $72.7M contract to build Hangar 3 at Pensacola International Airport under Project Titan. The project, which began in 2018 with $210 million in grants, aims to expand airport facilities for ST Engineering. However, rising costs have led to budget concerns, with Hangar 4's construction now uncertain. To address escalating expenses, cost-cutting measures are being implemented across construction projects. Dallas-Fort Worth to Gain $3 Billion in Data Centers from Prime Data Centers Exciting developments are underway in Dallas-Fort Worth! Prime Data Centers is set to revolutionize the region's tech landscape with a substantial $3 billion investment. This move will add six cutting-edge data center buildings, significantly bolstering the area’s technological infrastructure and economic growth. **Project Breakdown:** - **Fort Worth Expansion**: Three expansive two-story facilities near Aledo and Chapin School roads. Each will span 267,000 square feet, with a projected cost of over $1.5 billion. Construction starts in September 2024, with completion expected by early 2026. - **Garland Development**: Another set of three facilities located along Arapaho Road. This part of the project will also cover 267,000 square feet per building, costing more than $1.3 billion. Construction begins in July 2024, wrapping up in early 2026. **Why This Matters:** Dallas-Fort Worth already hosts more than 5.6 million square feet of data center space, and this expansion cements its status as a premier data center hub.
