Ladies with a Purpose is a program geared towards building confidence, team cohesiveness, and positive leadership characteristics in young minority women at Roosevelt Middle School of the Arts. Through lectures, activities, service programs, projects, and small group mentorship, GEHC volunteers and Roosevelt staff members set out to transform young girls into courageous young women.

Projects

  • Black 2 Business Mobile Application

The AALP African American wealth group has partnered with Washington HS, the African American Chamber of Commerce, and the Milwaukee Black Business to develop a tool specifically designed to accelerate the creation of AA wealth and business recognition. Understanding that approx 2/3 of adult Americans own smart phones, this collaboration has developed a high quality mobile app that will identify African American owned businesses throughout the greater Milwaukee metro area.
