How can you build a personal brand in the early stages of your career?
The most valuable thing you can do early in your career is to network. Go to coffee, lunch, happy hour with people you look up to. Tell them your hopes and dreams and listen to their stories. How does this build your personal brand? Because early in your career you don't know what you are good at, yet other people will start to recognize things in you that you have taken for granted. Pay attention. Build on what they see that works for your goals. Because you are building on what others already recognize, they will help you amplify your personal brand.

How can you make tough decisions as a leader in Social Media Marketing?
Do not have a stand-alone social media strategy. Social media needs to support all other marketing and communications efforts. When you look at the performance of your campaign, you need to have a clear understanding of what went well and what could have been improved. For example, perhaps the social campaign brought traffic to the site, but the site was slow or not well put together and traffic did not convert. Some would say the campaign failed, which it did, because of the website. Also, before trying anything ambitious, make sure you have put the time in to develop an engaged fan base. They are the ones who will support your efforts, amplify your message, and stand up for you if there is backlash of any kind.
