Be honest with why you need experience for your SDR/BDR role? You could be saving yourself huge amounts of money for the same results by going with an entry level hire. Legit reasons for needing experience - Complex sell with a tough buyer profile (CISO, CTO, CRO etc) - You don't have an outbound process or manager who can train. Non legit reasons - You're too lazy to train - You think hiring with experience improves your retention (it's the opposite) Analyse your SDR culture, could you be going with no experience?? #sdrjobs #sdrteam #salesjobs

Remove phrases like "I think" or "I believe" These phrases are weak and make you sound less confident. before: "I think that we can help solve XYZ" after: "we solve XYZ" You're already giving your opinion, you don't need to say it again. Sales Managers: Don't expect your AEs to cold call if you don't know how to. This kills me. Every week, I meet with leaders asking their reps to make cold calls. But they straight-up suck at cold calling. No prospect would ever take a meeting with them. THIS DOESN'T WORK. This is a culture of hypocrisy. Asking reps to do what you're unwilling or able to do yourself. If your team is struggling to build pipeline right now, get back to the basics. → Do our managers know how to outbound? → Do our managers know what good outbound looks and sounds like? → Do our managers do outbound with their reps? → Do our managers set weekly outbound goals with their reps? → Do our managers reverse-engineer the sales math behind every rep's sales goal? → Do our managers provide weekly outbound coaching to their reps? → Do you, the senior leader, talk to your managers about outbound? → Do you, the senior leader, talk about outbound in your all-hands calls? → Do you, the senior leader, give public shouts to reps doing well at outbound? This isn't rocket science. Don't expect your team to do what your front-line leaders cannot. It's time to get back to the basics. Get in the pit. And show your reps how it's done. And if you can't, you need to learn how. And quick. #sales

AEs - Ignoring your SDR's growth is costing you thousands in commission. Here's how: For most AEs, their SDR is their number one source of new pipeline. If you want to get ahead and smash your quota, do these five things. They'll take your SDR and pipeline to the next level! 1. 𝐌𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬: Practice to increase their batting average. 2. 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: Help them improve their messaging. 3. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬: Teach them to find the best people to reach out to. 4. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Tell senior leaders about their work. 5. If you want to get promoted to AE, You need to have AE skills. And, unfortunately, most SDRs don't have them. Why? Because the SDR role and the AE role are very very different. If you just focus on developing your skills as an SDR and expect to get promoted to AE, You're kidding yourself. You'll get better as an SDR (which is table stakes for promotion), But you won't show you're ready for the next step. So how do you develop AE skills? By doing AE work. This means running calls. And it doesn't have to be customer calls right off the bat. Here's a strategy that worked for me: Schedule a mock call with a different person internally every week. There are 3 big advantages of this: 1️⃣ You get experience running calls and then get quick feedback on where you can improve 2️⃣ You get to work with different personalities and get different perspectives on how to best run a call 3️⃣ Word will get around internally that you're working on your AE skills, which will improve your internal personal brand This is how you take control of your own development. There are a lot of competition for these spots, So you need to make your promotion a no-brainer. There's no better way to do that than to do the job before you actually get it. #sdr #bdr #ae #sales #growth

The biggest difference between great sales reps and bad ones: How they bounce back from rejection. Early on in sales I had issues recovering from rejection. There are so many ways to de-rail your whole day. - Unresponsive prospects. - Deals falling through. - A rude prospect. - A bad call. - Etc… Those negative interactions can easily string into bad Days / Weeks / Months. Instead… Great reps do an awesome job of getting back to equilibrium. Might have a big win, or a big loss. But… They level out quickly from those emotional swings. Instead of dwelling, they focus on: - Look at what can be learned from each situation. - Reward yourself for the work, not the outcome. - Focus on things they can control. - Celebrate the small wins. - Think long-term. The greatest sales objection is actually bandwidth for implementation. You heard that correctly. If you're solving someone's problems, but still not closing deals... it's most likely a bandwidth issue for your buyers. Your buyer can't be in a million different places at once. No matter how big of a problem you solve, or how attractive it is for buyers... It's just noise for them after they buy it. They'll never be able to spend time in it just like they never spend time in most of the other tech they buy. So how do you mitigate risk for that? If you don't provide services for implementation and customer success post sale, you will never win these deals... or if you do win them, you certainly won't retain them. And no, I'm not talking about a bi-weekly sync during the first month... I'm talking about getting your hands dirty to help them drive the outcomes they need to drive. #saas #saassales #ecom #cro #salesleadership

SDR’s if you do this one thing, you won’t have to work weekends. You can learn all the outbounding strategies you want. But it all doesn’t matter if you don’t have a system in place. Block out times to: 1. Cold call 2. Prospect 3. Respond to emails 4. Do Linkedin Outreach Build your calendar around these 4 things daily. And you’ll notice how much more focused you’ll be. And how much more time you’ll have. You’ll have full insight as to where your time is being spent. And exactly how much time you’re spending on each task. Having systems was the biggest game changer when I was an SDR. And still is for me as an AM and when I was an AE. Do you have systems in place?

Is your prospecting / data enrichment process preventing your sales team from hitting quota? Landing an SDR role requires more than just hitting "Apply." Here's how the people who succeed do it: 1. Research accounts...I mean, companies. 2. Connect with current prospects...I mean, employees. 3. Message them on LI to book a call...I mean, introduce yourself. 4. Ask questions to gather BANT... I mean, to learn what they look for in candidates. 5. See if they would like to schedule a demo...I mean, feel comfortable referring you. 6. Meet with the champions and decision-makers...I mean, hiring managers. 7. Go through multiple rounds until the opportunity progresses...I mean, until you land the role. Wait a second...💡 You've gotta do the role, to get the role. Anyone else follow a similar process? P.S. The job hunt is stressful, but keep going! You've got this!
