    Tasked with creating a Microfinance business model for Nurture Africa that was sustainable in the long term, we spent some time brainstorming with Nurture Africa CEO, Brian Iredale during September. Over the course of the next month, these ideas, developed into a work plan to bring the loan application form and mandatory loan training assessment, online (on mobile).

    Tasked with creating a Microfinance business model for Nurture Africa that was sustainable in the long term, we spent some time brainstorming with Nurture Africa CEO, Brian Iredale during September. Over the course of the next month, these ideas, developed into a work plan to bring the loan application form and mandatory loan training assessment, online (on mobile).

    We travelled to Nansana, Nurture Africa's base in Uganda to build and implement the digital application form and training solution. Whilst in Nansana, through interviews with locals and the team on the ground, we conducted , Customer feedback analysis, Requirements gathering and User testing

    We ultimately launched the digital application form and training platform in the field during our second week in Uganda.

  • An Investigation into the Momentum Anomaly in the Market for Bitcoin

    This paper examines the momentum anomaly with regard to daily returns on the bitcoin market from 23/07/2010 to 06/03/2013. The study represents a test of the efficiency of the market with an emphasis on the role of behavioural factors in explaining the anomaly. A combination of stationarity and autocorrelation tests was used to examine whether bitcoin satisfies the weak form of the Efficient Market Hypothesis.     This paper examines the momentum anomaly with regard to daily returns on the bitcoin market from 23/07/2010 to 06/03/2013. The study represents a test of the efficiency of the market with an emphasis on the role of behavioural factors in explaining the anomaly. A combination of stationarity and autocorrelation tests was used to examine whether bitcoin satisfies the weak form of the Efficient Market Hypothesis. It was concluded that bitcoin returns do not follow a random walk and the time series exhibits predictability. Further analysis of the autocorrelation tests revealed substantial evidence of momentum in daily bitcoin returns in addition to other peculiarities
