    • Identified the needs of the community and established a local association to respond to illiteracy, the lack of qualified employees, and unemployment among youth and women in a religiously conservative area where education is not emphasized.

    • Identified the needs of the community and established a local association to respond to illiteracy, the lack of qualified employees, and unemployment among youth and women in a religiously conservative area where education is not emphasized.
    • Developed the organization from its inception including putting in place a board of directors, fundraising, formally incorporating the association, hiring and training staff, securing space, etc.
    • Managed the activities of the center which include a sewing school, with more than 98 young women enrolled in a three-year training program that employs 48 people full-time; a daycare center with more than 114 children and 8 full-time employees; a literacy program with 26 employees funded by a Canadian development organization and the Senegalese government for 500 women in 20 villages over a period of 20 months.
