How can teamwork improve the change management process in a small business?
Creating a cohesive team requires a balance of culture (who we are) and vision (why we exist). After this leadership task is clear, individuals should be chosen that fit based on their skill set and experience to achieve the what. Clear accountabilities and regular performance management through explicit S.M.A.R.T. measures drive achievement. A simple cadence with a management system that uses disciplined process with the right balance of flexible content is the best way to make teamwork not feel like work.

How can you address employee performance issues without demotivating your team?
Communicate clearly. Show care. Support the employee. Typically when an employee is having performance issues, they perceive it before it is explained to them. This has to flip. Be specific and let employees know where they can do better. Weekly check-ins are super important. When giving constructive help, specificity is essential. It is the same when giving positive feedback. How many times have you heard a leader say "that was awesome", but not tell the employee specifically what was "awesome"? Being overly "nice" is cruel. Being kind is essential.
