    P.U.R.P.L.E. Peer Mentors participate in various training sessions throughout the academic year. The purpose of these sessions is to prepare mentors so they are able to answer questions about various campus resources as well as have the ability to refer other student-athletes to respective offices when necessary.     P.U.R.P.L.E. Peer Mentors participate in various training sessions throughout the academic year. The purpose of these sessions is to prepare mentors so they are able to answer questions about various campus resources as well as have the ability to refer other student-athletes to respective offices when necessary. Trained peer mentors can help prevent teammates from experiencing problems or other negative consequences. Peer mentors learn about the warning signs of eating disorders, depression, and alcohol abuse in order to appropriately intervene then refer to professional staff. Furthermore, the peer mentor can prevent student-athletes from violating policies related to alcohol and other drug use through education and intervention.
