Annuities might be one of the most oversold investment products out there. Some investment professionals only have the appropriate licenses to invest in mutual funds through annuities. Depending on how they are structured they can have VERY high commissions that are paid to the agent that sells them. Which means they have really bad surrender charges (break up fees) to get out of them. Because of these annuities can get a bad wrap. They CAN be an important part of your portfolio, but you have to have the RIGHT product for YOUR needs. Make sure annuities are the RIGHT solution for YOUR needs.
