I currently volunteer for TypeThursdayLA, a monthly meet-up for our Los Angeles Chapter where we discuss work-in-progress projects that focus on letterforms. In my Photography Lead role, I captured, edited, shared, and post to our Facebook public group. Currently, in my new Editorial Role, I help curate the marketing communications for outgoing emails and all social media platforms. Being a very young organizaiton, our group is quickly becoming a global Type loving community led by founder, Thomas Jockin. I continue to volunteer outside of school because I feel the need to stay connected with my fellow designers to continue to learn from each other and to stay fresh in the industry. It has been a truly great experience thus far. I would not trade a minute spent volunteering with anything else.

Reach out if you would like to present your in-progress or polished typography work in a non-threatening critique style format.

Laura, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
