Good Morning Starlits! Just a heads-up: CMS released the recalculated Star Year 2024 cut points last night. You can check them out on the CMS Part C & D Performance Data site. We've noticed a few unannounced tweaks to the spreadsheet since it first went up, like an added measure and the removal of an error, so keep an eye on it if you're using it to verify your 2024 star rating calculations. Additionally, consider politely requesting full transparency from CMS regarding the data and methodologies used for SY24 recalculations. With so much at stake, and things being done in such a reactive rush, it's important to be able to triple-check the math. It may also be worth while to encourage CMS to let plans without rebate changes see their competitors' recalculations and allow for rebidding if needed (considering prior bids may have been based on a very different competitive landscape). Plans that have now reached the 5-star level due to this recalculation could inquire about related marketing and enrollment flexibilities, and those that moved up from the 2-2.5 star bracket to the 3-star range could request to have compliance consequences removed. Many of you asked me to share my powerpoint presentation, so attaching it here. As I mentioned yesterday, whether a small/medium/large city or county, a municipal agency such as a police or fire department, a public university or hospital, a school district or community college, serving public agencies is different than private entities. The process is different, the responsibility is greater, the financial burden is more consequential. At the end of the day, public trust in each of us and our institutions is at stake.
