    MUSIC Matters is a 200-person, student-run non-profit at the University of Michigan that hosts one of the largest social impact lifestyle events in the U.S. The proceeds from the annual evening concert are used to seed fund promising social ventures that are designed by University of Michigan students.

    Since its founding six years ago, MUSIC Matters has hosted J. Cole, Ben Folds, 2 Chainz, Common, Migos, Desiigner, and Lil' Yachty, and donated $10,000 to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital…

    MUSIC Matters is a 200-person, student-run non-profit at the University of Michigan that hosts one of the largest social impact lifestyle events in the U.S. The proceeds from the annual evening concert are used to seed fund promising social ventures that are designed by University of Michigan students.

    Since its founding six years ago, MUSIC Matters has hosted J. Cole, Ben Folds, 2 Chainz, Common, Migos, Desiigner, and Lil' Yachty, and donated $10,000 to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, $50,000 to create the first “student-for-student” scholarship model in the country, and $35,000 for a first-of-its-kind summer camp for at-risk Detroit youth.

The live music industry is leading the charge with 70% of concert-goers buying their tickets online (Bovitz & Live Nation U.S. Live Event Attendance Study, 2016) — and there’s still more opportunity for growth.
