I have been a volunteer member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Air Force Auxiliary, since 1974. I have enjoyed performing many and varied roles, from being a Ground Search and Rescue team member, to Radio Operator, to Rescue Pilot, Instructor Pilot and Check Pilot and Evaluator. I have also served in various Leadership roles, such as Alabama Director Of Safety (earning the coveted National Safety Officer of the Year in 2006), Director of Standards, and Group 2 Commander, leading 400+ members.
