  • Design of an Evolutionary Algorithm-Optimized Multi-Layer Feed Forward Network

    -

    Utilizing an evolutionary approach to optimizing a Multi-Layer Feed Forward Artificial Neural Network (MLFN), our objective was to develop software based on the principles of machine learning to address accuracy problems in breast cancer diagnostics. Trained on a dataset of 500 patients with 16 features provided by Duke Medical, our EA-MLFN produced an ROC curve with an Az value of 0.745 which was capable of producing a relatively accurate diagnosis of breast cancer.
