Grit. You can't measure Grit. Your dreams will dictate how big your work ethic must become in order to make them a reality. Once your understand your dreams, then you reverse engineer the income and hours it is going to take to make it happen. The bigger the dream, the more work hours and resistance you will encounter on the path to that goal. My advice to any entrepreneur is to realize that some people will think you are insane and will try to talk you out of your dreams. Ignore them. You will pick up new friends and more positive people along the way. Finally, never feel like you are missing out on something just because you worked hard and missed a few events. Trust me; missing a few things in order to become better is worth it.

In the course of my day I work with a wide range of Property Owners and Investors. The landlords that I work with vary from small mom-and-pop landlords to owning thousands of units. Each real estate conversation is going to be different based on the audience and their needs. The best thing you can do is be a good listener. Take copious amounts of notes and repeat back what they say to you and gain context and color regarding their vision, goals and plans. After I understand their vision; then I offer compelling solutions. Be relentless in telling the truth. I take liberties in saying I often don't know the answer (if that is the case) but that I am committed to finding a path that gets them to where they want to arrive.

One of the best ways to simplify real estate concepts and terms for non-experts is to take your time and be ready to repeat yourself several times. Patience and understanding is required. I often try to explain things from several different angles or parallels that might pertain to an industry or investment vehicle they are more familiar with in general. Another way to help to help make the potential real estate investor feel at ease is to remind them that it is their money and that you want them to be comfortable with their purchasing decision. I tell them that I would strongly prefer they ask me the same question ten times than not ask at all. That I would rather they ask me fifty questions than not enough questions.

The best way to stand out in social media is to develop your personal brand as the hardest working, most diligent and a true purveyor of integrity at every level. Deliver quality real time information that makes it easy for the consumer and investor to know, like and trust you. Build your brand over time - even if that takes a decade or longer. Do not engage in side hustles - be pure to the profession of real estate. Devote all your time and effort in perfecting your craft. Avoid the temptation to constantly post yourself at some silly wine and cheese event. That may get you noticed; but it doesn't provide value. Be a person of value. Know your facts and figures and the game will come to you. People are drawn to quality content.
