Creating a more accessible world.

About us

At WheelChariot, we're driving the future of accessibility, creating a world where everyone belongs. Our dual-platform ecosystem bridges the gap between businesses seeking to enhance their accessibility and individuals with disabilities advocating for more inclusive environments. For businesses, we offer a suite of services including education, audits, and certifications, equipping them to meet and exceed accessibility standards. Meanwhile, our community-driven review platform empowers individuals to share their experiences, promoting transparency and accountability. Together, we're not just complying with standards; we're setting new ones, making inclusivity not an option, but a priority for all.

Today marks the 34th anniversary of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a law that secured a brighter future for Americans with disabilities. The ADA requires accessibility for the 1 in 4 individuals living with a disability in private and public businesses, as well as government buildings. As we celebrate today, we must realize it's not enough. From business failure to comply, to outdated standards, to lacking digital accessibility, we have so far to go. WheelChariot is excited to celebrate today but also to help lead us into an even more accessible future for all. #ADA34 #AccessibilityMatters #WheelChariot ID: The image celebrates the 34th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26th, 2024. It's been incredibly inspiring to watch an idea that I wanted to see myself be able to use become a name that people go to as a source of trust that somewhere is as accessible as I needed it to be for my family. I watched my grandfather not be able to go to the places he loved because the challenge of getting inside outweighed the want to visit. And just like him, 75% of disabled individuals will refuse to go to a place where they've had an inaccessible experience. WheelChariot gives people the power to be proud enough to put their disability first and tell a business they're doing it wrong. It's not meant to be punitive or negative, but it instead highlights the start of a larger conversation to make real change. It all culminated in seeing disabled individuals join us on our Media Day for the Gold Certification of Georgia Aquarium. We stringently looked this facility over and then to see people walk and roll around through the facility accompanied by service dogs from Canine Companions® and thoroughly enjoy the experience made Tori and I know we were doing the right thing. We hope to see a WheelChariot Certified sticker in every window of every business in the country. But for now, we'll take the satisfaction of knowing we made one person's day better by telling them the place they were visiting was inclusive to them. I'd love people to check out the video we did with the Aquarium here: https://lnkd.in/eMuxc4px. I hope it brightens your day as much as it brightens mine. Thank you, Ruth Rathblott, MSW, for including me in your #DisabilityPride2024 campaign this month, and happy Disability Pride to all. #DisabilityPrideMonth #AccessibilityMatters #Inclusion #WheelChariot

🚂 Welcome Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum! 🚂 We are thrilled to welcome the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum to the WheelChariot for Business family! They have taken on the challenge of joining our "Elevate Tier" and will have their facility evaluated (and hopefully certified) by our team for enhanced accessibility. Located in Chattanooga, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is steeped in history. The city became a railroad hub in the 1850s, significantly shaping its development. The museum itself was founded in 1961 by dedicated railroad fans intent on preserving American history through the restoration and operation of authentic railway equipment from the “Golden Age of Railroading.” The museum's passenger trains run on a historic route, including the Missionary Ridge Tunnel, completed in 1858 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This iconic location not only preserves machines but also offers a historical experience to educate visitors on the importance of the railroad industry in shaping our modern world. We are excited to support TVRM in their journey toward greater accessibility and inclusivity. Stay tuned for updates on their evaluation and certification process! Learn more about our new partner and their incredible history at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 🚂✨ #AccessibilityMatters #WheelChariot #TennesseeValleyRailroadMuseum #Chattanooga #RailroadHistory #InclusionForAll #ElevateTier ID: The image features a vintage steam locomotive emitting smoke, traveling along a railway track surrounded by lush greenery. The design combines bright orange and turquoise accents, creating a vibrant and welcoming announcement for the new partner.

July is Disability Pride Month, a time to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community. This month marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), landmark legislation that broke down barriers to inclusion in society. People with disabilities deserve to live full, self-determined lives, just like everyone else. Yet, discrimination persists for the 1 in 4 U.S. adults living with a disability. That’s why we spotlight inspiring stories in July and beyond that show what’s possible with inclusion. Over 1 billion people live with a disability worldwide. WheelChariot is proud to stand as an ally to those in the disability community, making their voices heard and ensuring everyone has equal access to goods and services. #DisabilityPrideMonth #WheelChariot #InclusionMatters ID: The graphic features a vertical column of five colored stripes on the left side (from left to right: red, yellow, light blue, green, and dark gray). The main text reads "Disabled and Proud" in large, bold letters. Below, in smaller text, it states: "WheelChariot is proud to celebrate the amazing individuals that make up the largest minority in the world for this July’s Disability Pride Month." The WheelChariot logo is in the bottom right corner.
