Strengthening the west side community through a bi-annual microgrants program that funds hyper-local initiatives.
About us
The West Side Community Fund (WSCF) is a consortium of leading companies based on the west side of Manhattan that have come together to support local and neighborhood initiatives in Chelsea, Hudson Yards, and Hell’s Kitchen. Through a bi-annual grant program, WSCF supports initiatives that deliver services to under-resourced residents along the west side. WSCF has distributed over $825,000 in grants to organizations on the west side since its founding in 2018 and is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Hudson Guild–a multi-service community-based organization serving those who work, live or go to school in Chelsea and the west side– administers the grant process on behalf of the West Side Community Fund.

Grantee Highlight: Fundavenyc Inc. utilized their WSCF grant funds to host an Open Arms Resource Fair, supporting our newest New Yorkers and all families in temporary housing. In partnership with The Shed (NY) and NYC Public Schools, the fair connected thousands of individuals to dozens of organizations providing vital resources - from food assistance programs to immigration services, health insurance registration, vaccinations, dental screenings, free eyeglasses, connections for permanent housing, career pathways, financial resources, and more. Watch a recap of the Open Arms Resource Fair here: https://lnkd.in/eV9rcAdG Fundavenyc received a WSCF grant this past May. #PRIDE is more than a celebration of LGBTQI+ identities; it's also a call to support and protect the LGBTQI+ community in the face of ignorance. WSCF is honored to have supported a few organizations on the front lines of this work: In 2023, we funded RUSA LGBTQ+ — Russian-speaking American LGBTQ+ Association's capacity-building project to expand their services to the fast-growing population of Eurasian-LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, with focus on the midtown west side area. Parity Productions is a two-time grantee based in Chelsea. This Spring, funding will go to professional development of women, trans, and gender-expansive playwrights and productions of their plays. Translatina Network received a grant for the second time this spring in support of their Nutritional Support Program. Funds will supply a food pantry, located in Chelsea, with nutritional necessities and gender-affirming hygienic projects. Happy Pride! The West Side Community Fund was recently featured in New York Nonprofit Media at the conclusion of our Spring grant cycle. Read the interview with Ken Jockers, Executive Director of Hudson Guild, and Jalen L., WSCF's Program Development Officer, here: https://lnkd.in/eBh-G_qR "Microgrants have been [our] primary intention, so that these leading businesses could come together to support people who have been here; the grassroots organizations, hyperlocal initiatives that uplift the ordinary, everyday residents,” Lisbon told NYN. #newyorknonprofitmedia #nyn #grants #westside
