As we prepare to celebrate the Independence Day holiday, I invite you to watch this moving guitar performance of the national anthem by one of our own – NNS firefighter and Apprentice School graduate William Davis IV. We filmed him in our shipyard as a symbolic reminder that shipbuilding is more than a job. It’s an honorable and noble calling that directly supports the freedoms we hold so dear. Thank you for keeping our Navy safe and our nation free. Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Members of Mission Technologies’ HII Unmanned Systems business group received MODSIM World 2024 Best Paper Award. HII proudly salutes the Sailors and Marines assigned to the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG) and the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC) as they conduct operations in the Mediterranean Sea. We hosted a congressional delegation from the House Armed Services Committee at the shipyard today. During the tour, the congressional members saw construction progress on Columbia- and Virginia-class submarines, as well as on Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers. They also witnessed how NNS is innovating with technology, including fixture-based manufacturing, to increase efficiencies across the shipyard.
