Today marks the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a monumental milestone in the journey toward equality and inclusion for people with disabilities. As we reflect on this day, we remember the incredible efforts, struggles, and perseverance that led to the ADA's passage. From the early grassroots movements and the historic 504 Sit-in, to the powerful protests like "Deaf President Now" at Gallaudet University, the road to the ADA was paved with determination and courage. Advocates like Justin Dart Jr. and Judith Heumann, who fiercely fought for disability rights and played pivotal roles in bringing this vital legislation to life, remind us of the power of relentless advocacy. Senator Tom Harkin, delivering a moving speech in sign language on the Senate floor, also significantly contributed to this cause. The ADA was more than just a law; it was a declaration that people with disabilities deserve the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. It tackled widespread discrimination, institutionalization, and exclusion, opening doors to schools, workplaces, and public life. At We Hear You, Inc, we are proud to stand as allies in the ongoing fight for equitable rights for all. Our mission is to create accessibility-focused technology that empowers and includes individuals with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to participate fully and comfortably in society, and we are committed to advancing this cause every day. Thank you to our allies on this journey that include Remarkable Tech, The Jed Foundation (JED) , Victoria’s Secret & Co., Arch Grants, Starkloff Disability Institute, EP!C, United Access, Aloa, Hager Companies, MP Consulting, LLC, Bradley University, Signapse, and many others. As we celebrate the ADA's 34th anniversary, we honor the advocates who made this landmark possible and reaffirm our dedication to continuing their work. While the ADA has been transformative, there is still progress to be made. We are hopeful and committed to advocating for reforms that will make the ADA even more equitable for all. Let's keep pushing forward, together, for a more inclusive and equitable world. #ADA34 #DisabilityRights #Inclusion #Equity #WeHearYou #Accessibility #Advocacy #InclusiveTechnology
