Värde employees got together to participate in another year of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge races in Singapore, New York and London. The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge holds annual 3.5-mile / 5.6-kilometer races across the world and is recognized as the largest corporate running event globally. Värde proudly participated in the celebration of Pride Month by hosting regional gatherings with pride-themed trivia. Winners of these events had the opportunity to donate to an LGBTQ+ charity of their choice. We were also thrilled to host Christian Huygen, the Executive Director of the Rainbow Heights Club, which provides free mental health support to the LGBTQ+ Community in New York City. Thank you to Christian for sharing his inspiring story, and thanks to all who shared in our pride celebrations throughout the month.

Värde Partners today announced a $185 million loan for the refinancing of a multi-state self-storage portfolio. “Värde welcomed the opportunity to partner with deeply experienced, institutional companies in the self-storage industry as a trusted provider of capital. This significant transaction underscores the strength and continued growth of our platform and the range of compelling opportunities to lend in sectors with strong fundamentals.” �� Jon Miller, Managing Director Värde has 30 years of experience investing in real estate and has originated over $7 billion in commercial real estate loans since 2017. Building on a period of increased demand during the pandemic, Värde sees the self-storage sector as positioned to continue benefitting from current market dynamics such as population growth and higher home prices. Lower sensitivity to economic downturns as well as generally low maintenance and capex needs add to the appeal of the asset class. Last week, Marcia Page, Founder of MPowered Capital and Co-Founder of Värde Partners, was recognized with a Trailblazer Award for her notable career and accomplishments as a pioneer in the alternatives industry at the With Intelligence Women’s Private Credit Summit in Chicago. Marcia accepted the award during a fireside chat with Pohlad Companies CIO, Elizabeth Lilly, CFA. Marcia and Beth discussed her journey from Olivia, MN to the boardroom, as well as the founding and growth of both Värde and MPowered. Among her many accomplishments throughout her monumental career, Marcia has been a true advocate of driving diversity and inclusion, including through MPowered’s mission of accelerating the growth of female and other underrepresented talent by providing access to the capital, commitment and connections needed to help grow their firms.

Barbara and her fellow panelists discussed the impact of the current macroeconomic climate on U.K. SME lending, including the funding landscape, market conditions, and outlook.
