As the Fourth of July is often marked with fireworks, cookouts, and family gatherings, UNM offices are closed today to also observe the anniversary of our nation’s adoption of the Declaration of Independence. This day of celebration captures the American spirit, and Lobos join to honor all those who serve this country and represent it here and abroad. We remember those whose bravery and sacrifices continue to serve and protect our nation. Happy Independence Day.

On this day, we honor freedom while reflecting on the profound effect slavery has had on our nation's history. And at UNM, we celebrate a diverse student body, enriching our institution and providing us with the ability to learn with and from those different from ourselves.

Step inside the new Behavioral Health Crisis Center! 🌟🏥 Spanning 48,699 sq. ft., this facility includes: • 16-bed crisis triage area • 10-patient observation area • Group therapy rooms • Community day room and dining area • Support services areas • Offices and law enforcement spaces Located next to the UNM Psychiatric Center at 2400 Marble Ave. NE, the center is dedicated to providing a healing environment with programs like Crisis Triage, Peer Living Room, and UNM Psychiatric Emergency Services. https://bit.ly/3Xn7i58

UNM Hospital and Bernalillo County celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the new Behavioral Health Crisis Center today. This facility will provide vital support to adults with severe mental health conditions and co-occurring diagnoses, filling a critical gap in care. Hundreds of community partners, elected officials, and hospital team members gathered to celebrate the innovative $40 million facility, which will officially open on June 25. Over the weekend, the UNM Physical Therapy Program held its 50th Anniversary Celebration!
