  • Recently in the Willesden Green field, Paramount Resources partnered with Fox Drilling and our team to drill their 222 mm drillout. During the run, Paramount drilled 2,563 meters at an average ROP of 42 m/hr utilizing Ulterra's 222 mm XP616. Compared to this year's top four 222 mm drillouts that reached TD in the area, this run represents a 31% increase in ROP. Aside from an impressive 1-2 dull grade and excellent ROP, the 222 mm XP616 demonstrated another consistent run to TD. Hats off to all those involved, including Josh Carroll, Brady Scott, and Gordon Gulick.

Introducing our latest release in our Oilfield Grinder range, the ORBIT 4240 PDC Drill Bit Grinder. This machine was predominantly designed for the grinding of PDC Drill bits, and the smaller range of Stabilizers and Downhole Oil Tools.  Built to the exacting standards as its world-renowned older brother the Yorky Oilfield Grinder, the machine still features the large Ø42” swing capacity complete with Ø12.5” through bore, but with a shorter centre distance of 40” to handle the full range of Oilfield components whilst also providing a smaller machine footprint, making it ideal for both manufacturing and repair facilities. Further enhancements to the new machine features new full surround guarding & a sleek operator control pendant, complete with Siemens touch screen control and handheld MPG. The machines conversational interface via bespoke custom screens provides the benefit for both ease of set-up and operation. The machine shown is displaying a test PDC Bit from Ulterra Drilling Technologies L.P. which has now been installed and put into production in multiple facilities in North America and the Middle East, further raising the bar in terms of quality and accuracy of both O.D and taper grinding. If you believe our machine can enhance your manufacturing and repair facilities and streamline your production, please contact our sales team now at sales@broadbentstanley.co.uk or give us a call on +44 1422 836266. #Oilfieldgrinders #Oiltoolgrinders #Stabilizergrinders #Cylindricalgrinders #PDC #PDCdrillbits #PDCdrillbitgrinders #Directionaldrilling #Drillingtools #Geothermaldrilling #OilandGas #Oilfieldservices #Grindingmachine #Downholetools #Siemens

  • Yesterday, June 23rd, was International Women in Engineering Day. We're proud to recognize Dulce Consuelo Cruz Hernandez and Carolina Quintero, alongside other female engineers at Patterson-UTI and Ulterra, for excelling in their careers and inspiring future female engineers. Dulce, our Country Manager in Mexico, said that she was inspired by the magic of mathematics and the belief that she could achieve anything. “Every day, I learn and grow with a team that shares my vision, which fuels my passion.” Her advice to aspiring female engineers is to “never doubt your ability to achieve anything you set your mind to. Experience is gained, but it's the passion we bring to our work that truly sets us apart.” Carolina, our Sales Engineer in Colombia, was inspired to become an engineer by her desire to contribute to society with innovative ideas, using creativity to solve problems. She said, “What I love most about my job is learning every day, facing new challenges, and enriching myself with others' experiences.” She wants young women to “believe in themselves and their capabilities — great things await when you follow your heart and mind." There’s no doubt that these two ladies are helping to pave the way for future generations of women engineers, and we are extremely proud to have them on our team. #Ulterra #Engineers
