⚡ Tyler Funk joined Tongal in 2013, and since then has been greenlit for 113 projects through the platform, growing as a filmmaker each time. With his debut feature-length documentary — a study of influencer culture called Anything for Fame — currently streaming on Paramount+, the director has shared the five biggest learnings from his journey with Tongal and how it has prepared him for his biggest challenge yet. Entering a pitch meeting with multiple ideas, how to build a talented and trusted team, and the power of receiving feedback from fellow filmmakers are among the lessons Tyler has learned from being part of the Tongal creator community. It's the first time that a motion picture of this scale has been built, piece by piece, in collaboration with a creator platform. In theatres October 11th! The first look at Piece by Piece, the life story of Pharrell Williams told in LEGO animation. Nearly 100 Tongal Creators from around the world contributed to this film - a gargantuan milestone for our creator community who continue to reframe the perceptions and potential of what it means to be a “Creator” When we started Tongal we were laughed at and told by “experts” that we were just “UGC” that we could barely make a TV commercial, that something like this would never be possible… Here’s to our partners at LEGO, Focus, Tremolo, Pure Imagination and of course, i am OTHER for believing in the power of what happens when talent meets opportunity.

The digital and social campaign won top prize, as well as an audience honor, in the Global Campaign category. ⚡ To celebrate the release of IF — the new movie about imaginary friends which hit theaters on Friday — our partners at Paramount Pictures called upon our creator community to produce a series of social videos which unleashed their inner-child. The results were wonderfully playful and wildly imaginative, but don't just take our word for it — because the reviews are in from the movie's writer and director, and general all-round legend, John Krasinski. Krasinski shared one of our clips — an artistic take on the movie's trailer drawn in Crayola crayons by Tongal Creator Peter Parker — with his five million Instagram followers, and wrote: "This just may be... the coolest thing ever!" 👇 And that video was not the only creative twist on the trailer produced by our community. Tongal Creator Troy Mullin's sweet take used candy and Oreo cookies to whet movie-goers' appetite. And Crankub Animation Studio, another of our talented creators, used claymation to mould their story. ⚡️ Congratulations to our partners at Sony Pictures Entertainment, and all of the talented Tongal Creators who contributed to their Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse campaign, which is among the finalists at this month's Shorty Awards. Sony engaged our global community of creators to put their unique spin on the movie's trailer to promote the release of the animated blockbuster last year. Six superfans were selected from dozens of awesome pitches to create a 15-second asset in their own unique artistic style — from crochet puppetry, to stop-motion, to 2D watercolors, and more. The assets were then cut into one trailer that was shared across Sony's social channels, and contributed to a dynamic suite of content that is a well-deserved finalist in the Global Campaign category at the Shortys, with the winner announced in New York on May 22. ⚡️ For more than a decade, we've unleashed the force of our global creative community to produce content for every corner of the Star Wars universe. So on the eve of Star Wars Day, here are a few shining examples of our work with the iconic franchise, all produced by our galaxy of Tongal Creators.👇 May the Fourth be with you! ⚡️ We partnered with The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm in 2017 to assemble a team of Star Wars superfans to write and produce a Rogue One-inspired miniseries featuring new toys from the LEGO Group, Hasbro, Mattel, Inc., and more. The Go Rogue series was named PRWeek's Best Global Campaign of 2017. ⚡️ Tongal Creators have produced dozens of fan-powered animation videos to mark various milestones in the LEGO Star Wars universe — including a recap of The Force Awakens told in LEGO bricks that was screened in theaters before The Last Jedi. ⚡️ We worked with Samsung Electronics to identify and engage a group of superfans to help design and launch a limited edition Star Wars version of its POWERbot vacuum. ⚡️ A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away (back in 2013, to be precise) Pringles engaged Star Wars fans in the Tongal community to create the Force For Fun TV spot, with the winning video broadcast on ABC primetime. We hope this creative alliance will endure for light years to come, and right now there's a fun live-action video project for Hasbro at Tongal.com, looking for playful pitches to showcase the toy brand's Premium Star Wars Roleplay Helmets.
