When we started this productivity series, one of the first things we listened to was an #Ideacast episode with Laura Mae Martin, asking us to treat our email like laundry. Thinking of it like a chore does work! We've distilled some of our favorite parts of Martin's chapter on email in her latest book, #Uptime, combined them with some #Thunderbird tips and tricks, and wrapped them up in our latest #Productivity post. Learn how to rescue your time and attention, even if they're lost like socks in the dryer: https://lnkd.in/gUhM_fbD

Every open source story is a collection of stories, especially Thunderbird. Without our contributor community, our epic tale would have been done long ago. This inspired us to spotlight and share their stories. Arthur, one of our Bugzilla volunteers, has shares some of the highlights from his experience, and whether you're leading an open source project or thinking of contributing to one for the first time, we hope his story educates and inspires. https://lnkd.in/gby884TP

Thunderbird Project reposted this
Thunderbird is one of the biggest open-source projects in the world, and it is integrating Rust into its core! After years with Apple Mail, I switched back to Thunderbird and couldn't be happier. It's fast, organized, and clutter-free. The new UI is a nice touch as well. One can really see, that Thunderbird picked up momentum again. Recently, they also started to integrate Rust to add Microsoft Exchange protocol support. In the new episode of 'Rust in Production' I sit down with Brendan Abolivier, a developer working on the Thunderbird Project, to talk about the challenges of working on a legacy codebase, the new Rust-based Exchange protocol support, and the future of Thunderbird. The first six months of 2024 are almost over. If you resolved to use your time better in January, but it still feels like the hours and days keep slipping away, we understand. And we are here to (we hope) help! #Thunderbird is starting a new, productivity-focused monthly series that combines our favorite productivity tips and tools with Thunderbird's built in features. We're talking to our time-savviest team members, reading a stack of #productivity books, and putting all that experience and knowledge to use for you. Our debut post discusses one of our favorite #TimeManagement tools that's a perfect fit with the Thunderbird Calendar, #TimeBlocking. As usual, we'd love your feedback - and for you to share your go-to productivity tools and resources in the comments! https://lnkd.in/gk-rvBpK

It's always a pleasure when you can work with a creative agency that's not only incredibly talented, but also committed to #OpenSource. Freehive has helped us give the #Thunderbird website a much needed refresh, visually and structurally. The revamped site makes it easier to find the information new and existing users want and need. Read all about the changes in our blog post, and of course, visit the site to see them for yourself! https://lnkd.in/enXWK6ff
