In the Age of Uncertainty, many catastrophic events have deeply impacted people’s self-worth, sense of survival, and spending routines. With this shift in priorities, travel also takes on a new dimension. Our business unit, C Space, has introduced 5 antidotes to modern living for brands to foster relationships in an uncertain world. Check out one of the antidotes listed below, part of their travel report.
“Going slow — for example, travelling overland — often involves relinquishing total control, accepting inefficiencies, visiting unexpected places, and relying on the kindness of strangers.” – Holly Tuppen, Travel Author Introducing the antidote to speed – ‘From moving fast to taking it slow’. Today, we sleep almost 2 hours less than people did 80 years ago. We spend around 2.5 hours daily on social media, and productivity app downloads are up 30% each year. We can’t stop running. But we want to... Hyper-connection is taking a toll. The modern traveler wants to slow down and savour the trip. To find out about our other antidotes, download our hot-off-the-press Travel Futures report: https://lnkd.in/e4HvHeMM Every day this week we published an antidote a day from our latest Travel Futures report, helping brands better understand where they can play a part in this age of uncertainty. MIT recently showcased Robogrocery, a system that uses computer vision and a soft robotic gripper to autonomously bag a variety of grocery items. This technology marks a significant advancement towards integrating robots into real-world settings, such as for packing groceries, although further improvements are needed for broader commercial and industrial deployment. https://hubs.li/Q02GWMJ50 #TechInnovation #MRX #RoboGrocery

As consumers become increasingly climate conscious, apparel retailers are motivated to explore new ways to create sustainable practices. Apparel leaders have hope that net zero and fashion can one day be mentioned in the same sentence as they look to ethical sourcing, promoting fair labor practices, reducing waste through recycling, and upcycling and embracing sustainable materials. https://hubs.li/Q02GWQZ40 #SustainableFuture #MRX #SustainableApparel

This new report published by our business unit, C Space, shares insights and strategies for travel brands to navigate the evolving preferences of modern travelers in the Age of Uncertainty. Read the report to explore shifting priorities and sustainable strategies from leading brands to stay ahead of consumer expectations.
Travel is back and booming: adventure trips, wellness sanctuaries, weekend breaks, Taylor Swift jaunts. This year, 9% of the world’s GDP will come from travel, almost back to pre-pandemic levels. But this time, it’s different… …in this age of uncertainty, travel is taking different forms and fulfilling different purposes. Last year, we published our Foresight Toolkit—a guide for insight practitioners to use when crafting and developing foresight-related projects. But how do you apply this? Introducing the antidote to modern living. Not just another Future of Travel report, but rather a demonstration of foresight application and a practical read to help your brand think about how you can stay ahead in this uncertain world. https://lnkd.in/ebfZXfi2 Yes, there’s talk of interplanetary tourism, hyperloops, and floating hotels, but in this piece, we argue that the brands that focus on applying new tech and solutions to real problems (whether that’s burnout or reclaiming the joy of being lost) and opening travel to more people, more often, are the ones that will succeed in the future. A big thank you to Doron Meyassed, Chris Nader, Eleanor Dodgson, Kristi Gole and Holly Tuppen, who contributed their expert voices when crafting this report. Enjoy the read. We hope it’s a mini—but meaningful—holiday for your brain. Escalent Hall & Partners #futureoftravel #foresight #marketresearch #relationshipthinking #travelfutures #travel #hospitality #insights

As in-person visits continue to rise and AI gains traction, companies like Amazon and Walmart are reducing telehealth services, saying impersonal care makes it difficult to maintain profits. Others, such as Fabric, are going in the opposite direction and investing in next-generation technology, such as AI, virtual reality, and holograms. Time will tell which approaches deliver the best value and receive the most patient engagement. https://lnkd.in/epn2UrRZ #HealthcareInnovation #TeleHealth #AIDrivenHealthcare

Tesla has applied for a patent for an automated sanitization system designed for its future self-driving electric cars intended for a robotaxi service. The goal of the system is to monitor and clean the vehicle's interior environment in place of human drivers. Although forward-thinking, self-driving cars are not yet a reality and have many hurdles to overcome before hitting the market—let alone being trusted and accepted by consumers. https://lnkd.in/gvz4ecHK #AutomotiveInnovation #AutonomousVehicles #SmartTransportation
