July is #DisabilityPrideMonth! This annual celebration marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is an opportunity to learn about and honor the history, achievements, and experiences of people with disabilities. Did you know? In 2021, thanks to input from the disability community, Ann Magill unveiled an updated #DisabilityPride flag featuring an accessible design. The flag's six diagonal stripes represent sensory disabilities (green), psychiatric disabilities (blue), invisible or undiagnosed disabilities (white), cognitive and intellectual disabilities (gold), and physical disabilities (red). Magill waived copyright and entered the flag into the public domain to encourage use of the symbolic design.
