In the lead up to yesterday's presidential debate, a network of pro-Kremlin accounts on X pushed fake Fox News articles in an attempt to manipulate social media discussion. Alethea's Head of Investigations C Shawn Eib commented that these latest efforts, "while widespread, do not appear to be gaining substantial engagement from authentic U.S. audiences." This network appears to be part of Doppelgänger, the same Russian influence operation that we reported on in March of this year.
