Perryman Company

Perryman Company is exhibiting at the International Bridge Conference in San Antonio, TX this week.

We are excited to welcome this year’s summer interns! Throughout the summer, we host several educational sessions and tours to complement the in-classroom learning they receive at their college or university. Today, for their first session, they toured our Melting Operations in Coal Center, PA where they learned about the process of melting titanium from raw material through finished billet. 

Last fall, a group of eight employees from around the company embarked on an intensive Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training. Beyond the classroom learning and exam, each had to work on an individual process improvement project to earn their certification. These projects were months-long and involved working with many stakeholders and overcoming unexpected challenges. We are proud to announce that this group were all recently awarded their certifications! Going forward, they will use put their new skills to use in mentoring others and with many more process improvement projects in support of our commitment to quality.

This week we visited Rosedale Technical College for their Spring Career Fair. We met many incredible students from their Industrial Electrical and Diesel programs and talked all about careers with Perryman. Thank you, Rosedale, for welcoming us!

At last week's meetings of Committee B10 on Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys in Philadelphia, PA, Seymour Sweet, of Perryman Company, was presented with The Award of Merit. Sy Sweet has demonstrated leadership with over 25 years of service to ASTM International in standards development, revision work, and input on each of the titanium material standards within both F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices and B10 on Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys. In partnership with The Challenge Program, Inc., we recognized five outstanding California Area High School students at this year's May Day event. Congratulations to the Class of 2024 and thank you for letting us be part of this wonderful tradition once more!

Last week we attended WQED Multimedia's World of Work Marketplace event at the Frank Sarris Public Library in Canonsburg. The event is an opportunity for local children to learn all about different career fields in the region. Children who visited our booth had the opportunity to hold different titanium products and raw materials, learn about how titanium is made, and talk to a few of our employees about their roles within the company.

This scholarship is a great opportunity for college-bound and currently enrolled undergraduate STEM students. If you are an employee of Perryman or any ITA member company, we encourage you to nominate a student!

Thank you to Ringgold School District for hosting a great College/Career Fair today! We enjoyed being a part of it and appreciate the opportunity to talk with students about their career interests!

We wrapped up February by attending several on-campus career fairs to discuss our many career and internship opportunities. We would like to thank the teams at Geneva College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, and Robert Morris University for hosting such impactful and well-orchestrated events!
