The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center) reposted this
In the early hours of this morning (Australian time), I had the absolute honour to partake in The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center) Nonviolence365® course today on “Be Love Day” (July 12th, U.S.) The course, available to all, seeks to strategically define and unleash the true power of love to unite humanity, cultivate true peace, and create the ‘Beloved Community’. The movement has a three-pronged call to action: (1) Be educated on what it means to Be Love. (2) Build inward character and outward community and (3) Be a part of creating a more just, humane, equitable and peaceful world, using the principles and steps of Kingian Nonviolence (Nonviolence365). I sincerely would like to thank Dr. Vonnetta L. West for facilitating such a truly inspiring and moving seminar. Your words have resonated all over the world with people like myself and, no question, many, many others. For those seeking more information, I encourage you to visit https://thekingcenter.org One of the standout moments from today was — BE LOVE is a growing movement of courageous acts to achieve justice, which we define based on these words from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: “Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love.” I extend my warmest thanks to CEO of The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center) Dr. Berenice A. King, the entire King family, staff and organisation. Love in action. #BeLove #ShiftTheCulture #BeLoveDay #TheKingCenter

Today, #TheKingCenter honors the legacy of Rev. #CTVivian, a steadfast luminary in the civil rights movement who worked closely with Dr. #MartinLutherKingJr. Rev. Vivian's bold, love-centered confrontations with injustice and his strategic leadership in pivotal campaigns, like the work in #Selma for #votingrights, exemplified his profound commitment to true peace. On the 4th anniversary of his passing, we remember his fierce dedication and the powerful words he often shared: “Leadership is found in the action to defeat that which would defeat you.” Let’s continue to draw inspiration from Rev. Vivian’s life and carry forward the torch of justice and peace he held so high.

Today, #TheKingCenter remembers and celebrates Congressman #JohnLewis. Congressman Lewis was a titan of civil rights who marched alongside Dr. #MartinLutherKingJr during the pivotal #Selma to Montgomery marches for #votingrights. On this 4th anniversary of his passing, we reflect on his courageous leadership and profound commitment to justice. His legacy of "#goodtrouble" inspires us to keep fighting for a more just world. Let's honor Congressman Lewis’s memory by carrying forward his relentless spirit.
