🌟🏅 Celebrating the incredible refugee athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics! 🏅🌟 Did you know there are 36 athletes who form the IOC Refugee Olympic Team Paris 2024, representing the world's displaced population of over 100 million people at this summer's Olympic Games Paris 2024? They come from 11 countries of origin and will compete in 12 different sports: aquatics (swimming), athletics, badminton, boxing, breaking, canoe (slalom and sprint), cycling (road), judo, shooting, taekwondo, weightlifting, and wrestling (freestyle and Greco-Roman). We are beyond proud to see these amazing individuals compete on the world stage, demonstrating extraordinary resilience, strength, and determination. They are not just athletes; they are role models, showing our GVP students and communities that no dream is too big and no obstacle too great. These athletes embody the spirit of perseverance and hope, inspiring us all to strive for excellence and never give up. Their stories remind us that refugees bring immense talent, potential, and positivity to our societies, enriching our communities and contributing to a better world. Let's cheer them on and celebrate their achievements, as they prove that with courage and hard work, anything is possible. 🏃♀️🏊♂️🏋️♀️ 📸 Olympic Refuge Foundation #Paris2024 #RefugeeOlympians #TeamRefugee #Inspiration #RoleModels #SupportRefugees #ChampionTheCause #StrengthInDiversity #AgainstAllOdds #DreamBig #HopeInMotion

We are happy to welcome a group of leaders of NGOs in Lebanon to Global Village Project. The school does not feel like a school without students in it, but we were happy to share our story with our guests: who we are, what we do, how and why we do it. The group were part of a delegation hosted by the Georgia Council for International Visitors and the purpose of their program was “to provide these leaders with the opportunity to examine innovative NGO, non-profit, public service, and advocacy organization management strategies in the US; explore the diversity of the non-profit sector in the US and the dynamic relationships among business, government, and non-governmental organizations; and review NGO strategies for strengthening leadership, employing volunteers, using technology and social media, fundraising, and furthering the organization’s mission.” Many thanks for GCIV for including us in their schedule! #educationforall #girlseducation #socialgood #educationmatters

This summer, thanks to the generosity of Delta Air Lines GVP mentor Ms. Adrianne took her mentee and another GVP alumn to the National Flight Academy in Pensacola for a 6-day camp. We appreciate her sharing their experience with all of us and getting to hear first hand how these girls are thriving! Ms. Adrianne: "I took my mentee and another GVP alumn to the National Flight Academy for a 6 day camp in Pensacola (thank you, Delta for covering tuition for them!). I wanted to give them a beach experience before camp so we spent a few days at the beach beforehand. They had a blast and even tried zip lining! These girls have amazed me with their manners, gratitude, consideration of others, and sense of adventure. They were resettled to the US through a refugee resettlement program 6 yrs ago with very limited English and having had interrupted education. They were so shy and quiet when I started working with them at GVP. Today they are chatty and thriving in school. They both do dual-enrollment through their high school at Georgia State University while also working jobs to help their families. GVP gave them opportunities to bridge the gap in their education and see a future! If you are looking for an amazing organization to donate to, please consider The Global Village Project. I’ve seen firsthand the amazing work they do!" Many thanks to Ms. Adrianne for being a part of our mentor program and for being such a strong advocate and supporter of our alumni! #MentorAndMentee #FearlessFemales #FutureLeaders #MentorshipMatters
