The finalists of the "Explore the Azores - For a Better Planet!" competition have been announced. GLEX Summit 2024 challenged the young explorers of the Azores, high school students aged 13-18, to demonstrate their creativity, passion and commitment to sustainable exploration of the Azores, with ideas such as research and identification of local species, development of innovative technologies for environmental monitoring, among others. As well as making an important contribution to the territory and community of the Azores, the students who took part in the "Explore the Azores" competition have the chance to win highly coveted and life-changing prizes, including a trip to New York, a visit to the headquarters of the world's largest exploration club and membership of The Explorers Club's Young Explorers, accompanied by an exclusive one-year mentoring programme. The projects will now be judged by a panel of experts and the winners will be announced shortly. Congratulations and good luck to all the finalists! The Explorers Club Expanding

Welcome aboard Paul!
I’m deeply honored and humbled to join the Board of Directors for The Explorers Club. An organization with a long and remarkable history, filled with members over the years driven to push the outer limits of humanity, in search of greater knowledge, understanding, and insight into our place in the universe. How we define exploration has continued to evolve as we have evolved, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this storied organization and help further define what it means to be an explorer in 2024 and beyond. I am excited about how this board role compliments my role at SDZWA, where we pursue cutting-edge work every day that is leading to massive changes in our understanding of our world. Excited for this journey ahead. Onward!
