  • The Economic Club of Colorado hosted a Signature Luncheon on the Colorado economy with keynote speaker Rich Wobbekind. One item of note was that data showed Colorado has fallen from one of the fastest growing states in all economic indicators and is now slightly lagging in growth due, in part, to the high cost of housing in Colorado. Professor Wobbekind also discussed whether we would see a recession or whether we will experience a soft landing. Guests enjoyed the information packed discussion as well and the Q&A. To join the conversation, ask any of our board members or committee members about becoming a member of ECC. Minyoung Sohn, Alex Loucks, Brian Robinson, CFP®,CIMA® , Michael Gavin, David Walters, Matias A. Sueldo, Stew Lawrence, Marc Musyl, Martin Erzinger, Cart Pierson, Ben Huber

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT – DON HINDMAN, ESQ. – CEO OF JOHNSON STORAGE & MOVING CO., LLC   We are pleased to feature our member and sponsor, Don Hindman, Esq. of Johnson Storage & Moving Co., LLC. Don joined Johnson’s as President and Principal in April of 2010. Johnson’s at that point was emerging from the Great Recession having lost 50% of its revenues due to the collapse in the housing market. Mark and Jim Johnson brought Don on board to run the business but more importantly, to restore and grow revenues and profitability which were dramatically impacted by the financial crisis. Don leveraged his M&A experience to acquire six companies and open four new locations, doubling Johnson’s revenue and restoring profitability within the first 12 months. Since then, Johnson’s has expanded to 20 locations in 12 states with $130M in revenue, 150 trucks, and 1.6M square feet of commercial warehouse space.   Prior to Johnson’s, Don owned and operated a wholesale distribution business in Chicago called Clark National, Inc. located in Elk Grove Village. Don is a “recovering lawyer” (the best kind!) and lives in Littleton with his bride of 31 years, their four kids, and their 2 crazy dogs, Molly and Teddy. Don is a live music junky and enjoys shows at Red Rocks and Fiddler’s when he’s not swimming at Greenwood Athletic Club.  Be sure to get to know Don at our next event! #DenverBusiness #Leadership #Economics

  • Member Spotlight! This week we are excited to feature ECC member, Tierney Aldridge, CAPI. Tierney, originally from Indiana, chose to attend Purdue University to carry on the proud family tradition of becoming a Boilermaker. During her time at Purdue, she discovered her passion for high net worth insurance and also achieved the prestigious position of Purdue's Golden Girl, showcasing her talent as a national champion baton twirler. This role provided Tierney with the opportunity to represent the USA internationally and contribute to public relations and fundraising efforts for Purdue and various non-profit organizations.   After graduating, Tierney joined Gallagher at their headquarters in Chicagoland. However, in 2012, she made the decision to move to Denver and became an essential member of the Denver Agency team. Tierney's dedication to her profession led her to complete the CAPI designation through Wharton and Chubb, Chubb's private client producer school, and AIG Private Client University.   Currently residing in Parker, CO, Tierney enjoys a fulfilling personal life with her husband. She has a passion for outdoor activities such as golfing, cycling, and skiing, and demonstrates her commitment to giving back to her community through serving as a director on the boards for the Douglas County Community Foundation and the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Please introduce yourself to Tierney at our next event. If you aren't a member, email courtney@economicclubcolorado.com to learn more.
