We're disappointed—but not surprised—to see executive trends moving in the wrong direction. The DealmakeHers was founded to amplify the role of women in corporate leadership and has been instrumental in forging successful ventures, partnerships, corporate board positions, and deals. Clearly, there's still plenty of work to be done, according to Bloomberg columnist Beth Kowitt's insightful analysis. "S&P Global Market Intelligence now projects women won’t reach parity with men in the C-suite until 2055 at the earliest, at least five years later than previously estimated. When women do manage to claw their way to the top, they lose their jobs faster than their male counterparts. A new report from executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates found female CEOs are more than twice as likely to leave their roles within two years and four times more likely to last fewer than 12 months. The boardroom is also regressing, with women in the first quarter of 2024 filling the lowest percentage of new director positions since 2017, according to an analysis from the nonprofit 50/50 Women on Boards. The compensation divide is just as alarming. The U.S. Census Bureau of Labor Statistics released data in January that showed the gender pay gap for all working women has barely budged in a decade." So excited to welcome the amazing Tracy Margolies to our The DealmakeHers community. Saks Fifth Avenue
Tracy Margolies, Chief Merchandising Officer of Saks Fifth Avenue, is the newest face joining the The DealmakeHers community! Tracy is a seasoned veteran in fashion merchandising. Prior to her 16-year tenure with Saks, she held senior leadership roles at Bergdorf Goodman (fun fact: she started her fashion career at BG, too!), after her position as Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager for women’s footwear at Saks Fifth Avenue. Tracy’s known for cultivating emerging designers, building strong relationships with established luxury brands, and mentoring the merchants around her. She’s been honored on WWD’s list of the 50 Most Powerful Women, and she was inducted into the Footwear News Hall of Fame at the Footwear News Achievement Awards in 2023. Tracy’s networking tip for meaningful and lasting success? Invest in long-term relationships: “When you can cultivate a true connection that leaves both parties feeling good, it’s a win-win.”

We are pleased to welcome Jacqueline Ardrey, CEO of Vera Bradley, to The DealmakeHers! Ardrey is a highly accomplished CEO with over 25 years of leadership experience in multichannel retail. She previously served as President of Qurate Retail Group’s Grandin Road; CEO of Trading Company Holdings; SVP of Merchandising and Supply Chain for Harry and David; and SVP of Merchandising, Design and Wholesale at Hanna Andersson. On dealmaking, she advises, “Relentlessly prepare for any deal. Understand what you and the other party stand to gain. It’s so much better to partner with those whose goals are similar; deals require a lot of time, and your life will be better if you surround yourself with like-minded partners.”
