This recognition will provide the organization with access to additional resources to enhance the services we provide to our clients and patients. The Boulevard of Chicago believes that every individual and family should have a place to call home and that additional resources are desperately needed to end homelessness not only in Chicago, but across the country. Everyone should have access to housing and healthcare and criminalizing homelessness is not the answer. The Boulevard's 30th Anniversary Luncheon Recap The Boulevard’s 2024 Luncheon fundraiser was a huge success! Thanks to our generous supporters, we've raised $203,485.50 to date, exceeding our original goal of $200,000. We are deeply grateful for the many contributions we received. Every gift makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the men and women we serve each day. It was so exciting to celebrate The Boulevard's 30 years of life-changing work. The Boulevard's 30th Anniversary Luncheon started off with the presentation of the Enhancing Lives Award to Debbie Reznick for her tireless efforts toward ending homelessness in Chicago and for her commitment to social justice and economic opportunity. Congresswoman Delia Catalina Ramirez also took this opportunity to present Reznick with an official Congressional Commendation, in recognition of her outstanding public achievements. We thank Congresswoman Ramirez for her time. Christy Weimer, The Boulevard's Board President, took time to honor The Boulevard's 30 years of existence by recognizing our organization's founders, staff and Board. Weimer also introduced The Boulevard's newest award, The Nancy Hanson Outstanding Service Award, named after one of our founders, in recognition of her many years of service. Hanson and Weimer presented this award to another committed volunteer and Board member, Veronica Buckley, who has been volunteering with The Boulevard of Chicago for over 25 years. Our keynote speaker, Freddie Stevenson, shared his experiences with homelessness as a child, and how he went on to success as a Chicago Bear. We thank Freddie for his moving speech. And finally, our Luncheon emcee Robin Robinson closed out our program with a exciting paddle raise, where we were able to exceed our fundraising goal of $200,000. The Boulevard of Chicago would like to extend a huge thank you to all who were involved with our 30th Anniversary Luncheon fundraiser. We would not be here without you all. At a luncheon marking their 30th anniversary, The Boulevard of Chicago recognized the tireless service of Nancy Hanson, one of the co-founders of The Boulevard, by establishing an award in her name. We know how deserving Nancy is of this recognition, because she serves on our board as well.
