Opportunity for Salesforce Professionals to Help Non Profit Dog Rescue 🐶 💻
Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to use my professional skillset to help a grassroots dog rescue, The Animal Pad (San Diego, CA), who had spent three years trying to get Salesforce up and running prior to me joining the organization as a volunteer.
The group has about 100 volunteers working out of spreadsheets to manage an additional 500 volunteers , 300 fosters, and 1,000 dogs annually. The pains felt by these core volunteers are strikingly similar to what I’ve heard from customers in the past; too many spreadsheets, not enough controls, no versioning, poor reporting, the list goes on… and they’re dealing with all of this UNPAID.
Myself and a handful of other Salesforce employees/volunteers have spent the last year meeting weekly to get the rescue’s salesforce instance in a usable state. We are currently in UAT and are hoping to go live in the next couple months. There’s just one thing holding us back — licensing!
As a rescue funded entirely by donations, The Animal Pad faces a tough decision: redirecting funds towards licensing could mean fewer resources for rescuing dogs. However, there’s no doubt that having users live on salesforce would be hugely impactful - giving volunteers time back to recruit new volunteers, rescue more dogs, and expand donor outreach.
I’ve brought this to LinkedIn because anyone in the Salesforce ecosystem understands how transformational a Salesforce implementation can be for an organization. If you or your business are looking for a unique way to contribute to a nonprofit, please reach out to me. You’d be playing a critical role in rescuing dogs facing life-threatening circumstances and The Animal Pad would love to highlight you as a sponsor on their website as a part of their “pack”!
