TelevisaUnivision reported financial results for second quarter 2024 today, including 3% total revenue growth. Total advertising revenue grew 6% - U.S. advertising revenue accelerated while Mexico posted double-digit growth for the sixth consecutive quarter. ViX, the largest global Spanish-language streaming service, saw strong audience growth and engagement across both free and paid tiers, surpassing 50 million global monthly active users on the free tier. TelevisaUnivision CEO Wade Davis said: “Q2 was an exciting quarter for us in which we saw building momentum in most areas of our business and delivered some historic milestones. We leveraged the combined power of our linear and streaming platforms to deliver the most watched Spanish language soccer tournament in the U.S. in many years, outperforming the 2022 World Cup. Our DTC business continues to pace ahead of plan and is over-delivering across all of its major KPIs. Global ad sales momentum accelerated, driven by a strong marketplace in Mexico and success in the U.S. in attracting new advertisers to our platform. TelevisaUnivision achieved record-breaking viewership numbers across Univision, TUDN, and ViX during Sunday’s CONMEBOL Copa America 2024 and UEFA EURO 2024 final matches. The Copa América final scored 6.35 million viewers, the largest Univision audience since the 2014 World Cup. Viewership on Univision exceeded that of its competition — including Fox — by 31% when it came to total viewers for the final game. The UEFA final match scored 3 million total views on Univision, making it the most-watched Spanish-language Euro final ever. Over on ViX, both final games ranked as the top 2 most-streamed sporting events to date on the platform in the U.S., and combined metrics for the tournaments boasted 30 million total streaming hours, with a reach of 5.3 million in the U.S. and the Copa América final scoring 1.5 million concurrent streams. Co-anchor of Univision Noticias, Elian Zidan moderated the official Town Hall meeting, “Election 2024: Empowering Hispanic Voters as AI Amplifies Misinformation”. At a critical moment in this election year, AI and misinformation have grown more prevalent. Zidan and panelists explored how misinformation campaigns target Hispanic communities through social media platforms, messaging apps, and other digital channels, often exploiting language and cultural nuances.

Our Consumer Strategy & Insights team, in collaboration with L2, released new turnout projections which indicate that, on a national basis, 25% more Hispanics are expected to vote nationwide in the 2024 general election than in the 2020 general election – higher than the 19% increase among non-Hispanic voters. Michelle Day, Senior Vice President of the Political Advocacy Government Group shares, “There is more work to do before earning the support of the millions of voters still up for grabs, with many Hispanic voters not completely certain about who they plan to vote for in national and state elections. Campaigns need to utilize Spanish-language advertising to reach and engage Hispanic voters on the issues that matter most to them.”
