Our Shetland office recently sponsored the Lerwick Amateur Swimming Club’s Midsummer Meet with Liam Peterson and Joanne Goudie presenting the medals. Lerwick Amateur Swimming Club is run solely by volunteers, and it helps children from the age 5 to gain water confidence and learn to swim. If desired, these swimmers can go on to compete in Shetland as well as on the mainland, representing the club and Shetland as a whole. This year, the club has been awarded Scottish Swimming Club of the Year in recognition of the club’s progression, its involvement with the local community, standards in equality and inclusion, as well the hard work of each and every member. Club coach, Lynne Deyell Dip CII said: “On behalf of the club, I would like to pass on our sincere thanks for your continued support of Lerwick ASC.
