We're full of celebrations this summer! Please join us in wishing Klaus a Happy 20-year anniversary with SWT Design! Klaus-Dieter Rausch joined SWT Design in 2004 and has dedicated the past two decades to expanding and sharing his expertise in landscape architecture. Klaus began his career in 1982 in the landscape construction industry in Germany. His passion for transforming outdoor spaces led to him earning a master’s degree in landscape architecture from Fachhochschule Weihenstephan in 1994. Clients and projects alike benefit from Klaus’s profound dedication to humanity, environmental sustainability, and the preservation of future generations. If you’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with Klaus, you’ve likely experienced his meticulous attention to detail and his mastery of technicalities and constructability. Throughout his tenure at SWT Design, Klaus has contributed to a diverse range of projects spanning hospitality, healthcare, streetscapes, destination playgrounds, sustainability master planning, higher education, and more. He is particularly sought after for his expertise in green roofs, stormwater management, and navigating challenging project constraints. Beyond his contributions to projects, Klaus serves as an invaluable mentor, generously sharing his time and expertise to foster growth and success in others. As we celebrate Klaus's 20th anniversary with SWT Design, we reflect on his years of achievement and his invaluable contributions to our team and industry.

We were so excited to be a part of the Forest Park Forever Basketball Courts Ribbon Cutting yesterday! Mayor Tishaura O. Jones, other City of St. Louis officials and representatives of the donors who helped make this project possible, as well as the project team were in attendance to help celebrate this new attraction for St. Louis. The celebration continues this Saturday, July 13th with a Community Celebration and Dedication starting at 10 AM with different events throughout the day and we hope to see you there!

We are thrilled to welcome our newest St. Louis Studio team member, Will! Will is a recent 2024 graduate with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Growing up in Belleville, Illinois, right by the Mississippi River, Will's passion for art and environmental issues has shaped a unique professional journey. He is driven by the power of technology to create smarter, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing landscapes. With a special interest in community open spaces and pedestrian infrastructure, Will is ready to bring innovative ideas and fresh perspectives to our projects. We can't wait to see the amazing contributions he makes to our team!

Join us in welcoming Kyle to our Kansas City Office! 🌟 We are thrilled to introduce our newest team member, Kyle Riley! Kyle was one of our amazing 2023 summer interns and has returned to join us full time. He holds a BA in Landscape Architecture from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, with minors in Community and Regional Planning and Urban Forestry. His achievements include High Distinction, the ASLA Student Merit Award, and the ASLA Award of Honor. Passionate about community and regional planning and habitat restoration, Kyle excels at projects that enhance community engagement and environmental change. Hailing from Lincoln, NE, his interest in architecture began in middle school, inspired by job shadows and academic events at UNL. In his free time, he enjoys running, biking, sketching, and active sports with friends. Welcome to the Kansas City Studio, Kyle!

SWT is thrilled to be partnering with the City of East Moline to bring vibrant placemaking improvements to their Downtown area. Our talented consultant team, led by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, recently hosted a fantastic community open house to gather valuable feedback. The event was a hit, featuring presentation boards, maps, and renderings to showcase the proposed designs. The City even painted the street outside the venue, providing residents with a real-life scale of the upcoming improvements! We are grateful for the incredible turnout and the insightful feedback from the community. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to shape a better Downtown East Moline! Celebrating Pollinator Week with Native Plants! 🌸🐝🦋 At SWT Design, we're passionate about using native plants to support and host a wide range of pollinators. One of our favorites is the native milkweed, which provides essential nectar for butterflies and bees. The leaves of this remarkable plant serve as a host for the entire lifecycle of the monarch butterfly. With increasing awareness about the decline of monarchs, more people are creating monarch waystation gardens to support these incredible insects. But butterflies aren't the only important pollinators. Did you know Missouri is home to over 450 species of bees? These bees are vital to our state's biodiversity and ecosystem health. Pollinators contribute much more than beauty to our world. They provide crucial ecosystem services that impact our daily lives.
