Thanks for amplifying this, Sari Zimmerman Heyman!
Hi Folks, I've been volunteering with an amazing organization called Students Rising Above (SRA) that serves traditionally under-represented students ....students of color, firstGen, low income......primarily headed to college, but also to graduate programs such as law school. They are holding a Career Fair on Saturday, July 27th in SF. If you think your employer might be interested, please share this with them!! Here is the information: Looking to invest in motivated and talented college students? The SRA Career Fair is your chance to connect with a diverse group of college students who are driven to succeed. SRA's career development program provides these students with industry exposure and prepares them to make immediate contributions. Benefits: Access a talent pool: Meet with a range of highly-motivated SRA students actively seeking internships and job opportunities. Streamlined recruitment: Network with prepared candidates who are familiar with your industry through SRA's career development program. Build your employer brand: Showcase your company culture and career opportunities to a future generation of professionals. Interactive format: Participate in an industry panel discussion with SRA alumni and engage with students during the career fair. Event details: Date: Saturday, July 27th, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Location: Wells Fargo Learning Center, 333 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94105 Schedule: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Breakfast 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Industry Partners/SRA Alumni Panel 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Career Fair 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Networking Lunch Limited Spots! Sign Up Today: https://bit.ly/3QYDh7Q ---------- Other FAQs: Is there a cost to participate? There is no cost to participate, and breakfast and lunch are provided for all confirmed registrants. Where do we park? Parking is unfortunately NOT provided by the Wells Fargo Learning Center, so participants are encouraged to find suitable parking options ahead of time. What ages of students will be there? The audience of students will be comprised of rising college freshmen all the way through recent graduates and even some older, job-seeking SRA alumni. Do we have to be actively hiring to participate? While employer participants are not expected to have current, active job postings to share with students (although please bring them if you do!), the hope is that all employer participants will be able to share at least sample job postings of soon-to-be positions that may be heading down their own respective job funnels. Who should we bring from our company/organization? If a company/organization is bringing more than one recruiter/representative, we always encourage our employer participants to try and reflect the demographics of our students (i.e. first generation college, low-income, BIPOC) in their chosen representatives, which always allows for deeper, more impactful conversation and connections.
