First steps are hard. They require careful planning, calculated risk, and most of all, courage. We took a daring first step earlier this month with the completion of TA-1’s first powered flight, reaching high supersonic speeds approaching Mach 5. The flight was a landmark moment on our path to providing our customers and nation a reusable and routine hypersonic test capability. Congratulations to the Stratolaunch team and our partners on this achievement! Stay tuned on our progress as we prepare to fly our first fully reusable Talon-A vehicle, TA-2, later this year. #hypersonic #firstflight #LetsRoc

Today Roc continues its envelope expansion series, marking the 17th flight of the launch platform. While utilizing this flight series to increase the aircraft’s performance capabilities, we also take every opportunity to train new team members and increase the overall proficiency of our mission operations team. For this morning’s checks and engine starts our newest member of the flight ops team, Adam Francki (left), took to the right-side pilot seat to gain familiarity with pre-flight processes and checklists as part of his training to pilot future sorties. #LetsRoc #FlightTest

This weekend marked the 65th anniversary of the first flight of the X-15 experimental aircraft developed by NASA and the U.S. Air Force in the early 1960’s. This record setting aircraft has inspired a legacy of air-launched test vehicles like Stratolaunch’s Talon-A reusable hypersonic testbed. The X-15 was a pioneer in high-speed flight and helped pave the way for future advancements in aerospace technology.

June 6, 1944, the beaches at Normandy were invaded by Allied troops to recapture Europe from the control of Nazi Germany. This pivotal event involved nearly 156,000 troops and more than 12,000 aircraft. On this 80th anniversary we reflect and honor those who played a crucial role in this historic event that marked a turning point in the course of World War II.
