UCOR is preparing to demolish the massive Alpha-2 building at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Workers are filling the basement area with a concrete mixture, creating a slab that will allow heavy equipment to maneuver during demolition. https://lnkd.in/eSATTzub

We are excited to share that we have partnered with UCOR, RSI, and Longenecker & Associates, Inc. to support East Tennessee Children's Hospital. Together, we have contributed funds towards expanding regional behavioral health outreach at the Children’s Oak Ridge Pediatrics facility. This initiative is crucial for enhancing mental health services for children in our community, and we are thankful to be part of this meaningful effort. Thank you to everyone involved in making this possible!

United Cleanup Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR) and its business partners Strata-G, RSI, and Longenecker & Associates are making a combined $645,000 donation to be distributed over the next five years to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital to expand regional behavioral health outreach at Children’s Oak Ridge Pediatrics facility. Oak Ridge Pediatrics will be the first primary care location in the Children’s Hospital network to offer behavioral health care. The donation will allow Children’s Hospital to hire two full-time behavioral care clinicians; purchase new technology; and offer mental health outreach education and first aid. UCOR has been a long-standing supporter of Children’s Hospital and was involved in the emergency department expansion and hematology-oncology playroom. UCOR President and CEO, Ken Rueter, also sits on the hospital’s board.

Last week, Strata-G and UCOR joined forces for a rewarding Clinch River Habitat for Humanity, led by our Nuclear and Quality Services Director, Michael Russell. Our team collaborated to construct several interior walls and window frames for a home in Harriman, TN. We are delighted to support Habitat for Humanity's mission to provide those in need with a decent place to live. A special thanks to our Outreach Coordinator, Georgia Gerrick, for organizing this effort, and to UCOR for partnering with us on this meaningful project. Great work, everyone!

We had a blast at the 2024 Summer Celebration hosted by RiverView Family Farm, all for a fantastic cause! Strata-G supports Foothills Land Conservancy (FLC), a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and enhancing the beautiful landscapes of the Southern Appalachian region since 1985. A huge THANK YOU to FLC for their tireless efforts. Here's to many more years of partnership and progress!

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting David Ray Smith, Strata-G employee and Manhattan Project Historian, as he shared a captivating overview of Oak Ridge, TN's rich history with our incoming summer interns. Ray's insights shed light on the evolution and significance of Oak Ridge’s role in winning World War II. Our interns, including Noah Oaks, a chemical engineering intern assisting with Paducah environmental baseline surveys, and Lorryn Alvis-Andies and Meredith Clay, focusing on radioactive waste characterization and project controls processes, respectively, for UCOR are all geared up for an enriching experience! Join us in extending a warm welcome to our talented Strata-G 2024 interns!

Congratulations to Danielle Cleveland, Strata-G’s Business Development and Proposal Manager, on graduating from the Oak Ridge Chamber Of Commerce's Leadership Oak Ridge (LOR) 2024! LOR participants delve into the issues impacting Oak Ridge, TN and explore ways to make a meaningful difference in their community and workplace. This year, Danielle and her LOR peers made a significant impact by weeding gardens, power-washing, painting, and assembling furniture for the Hospitality Houses of Methodist Medical Center. Their efforts helped create a more comfortable "Home Away from Home" for families of patients undergoing extended treatment at the hospital. Well done, Danielle, and the entire LOR team!
