Storybook was spotlighted again in 2023 State of JS results! The results matter to us because they’re one of the few ways for us to understand the pulse of the ecosystem. We wrote a post that analyzes the results and how we're taking action to evolve Storybook. https://lnkd.in/eFSNmvGf

We believe *VISUAL* tests are the most practical approach for UI testing. They're the faster/easier successor to unit tests in many cases. We wrote about why visual testing works, tradeoffs, and how Storybook keeps your UI functional and visually flawless. https://lnkd.in/gSrnScRu

We just shipped module-mocking for testing in Storybook! Why? Components can have many dependencies, such as a ThemeProvider for context, API calls for data, or other modules. Isolating them for development and testing often requires controlling or mocking these dependencies. Till now, Storybook didn't provide a solution for module dependencies. The new module mocking API enables: 🧱 A standards-based approach, that works throughout the JS ecosystem 👁️ Explicit, transparent mock configuration and creation 🛡️ Type-safe mocked functions 🎭 Easy behavior modification and assertions in stories 📝 Automatic logging in the Actions panel Read on: https://lnkd.in/eQcdExeZ
