To celebrate StoneTurn's 20th Anniversary, we’re spotlighting 20 Acts of Service. Today, we look to Point Bonita Lighthouse Cleanup and New York Cares Winter Wishes! Across offices, StoneTurners regularly help with local clean-ups, including the Point Bonita Lighthouse in San Francisco. According to the National Park Service, "A secret jewel of the Bay Area, the Point Bonita Lighthouse, built in 1855, was the third lighthouse built on the West Coast and helped shepherd ships through the treacherous Golden Gate straits. Today, the lighthouse is still active and is maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard." We are honored to play our part to help maintain this piece of history. This past winter, the StoneTurn New York office contributed to New York Cares Winter Wishes program, which helps grant tens of thousands of gifts to NYC youth during the holidays. The team shopped, wrapped, and delivered presents to the program for the holiday season. Stay tuned for additional stories about StoneTurn’s community impact in the coming weeks. Partner at StoneTurn DACH | Anti Financial Crime | Asset Tracing | Compliance | Forensics | Internal Investigations | Litigation Support | Sanctions | Whistleblowing
After being elected as a new board member of Transparency International Austria virtually last year, I finally made it to our general assembly at the stunning Vienna City Hall (thanks to Verena Preisl). During the assembly, we passed key resolutions to strengthen internal governance, resulting in board changes. We deeply appreciate the efforts of our departing board members Angelika Trautmann, Eva Graf, Friedrich Roedler, and Georg Krakow. Their dedication will continue to inspire us. We are pleased that Friedrich Roedler will continue on the Advisory Board. We also welcome new board members Rudolf Schwab and Bettina Knoetzl, who will join the board effective 1 October 2024. Together with our chair Alexander Picker and Eva Geiblinger, we will share updates on new developments in the upcoming months. Thank you to our individual and corporate members for their relentless efforts in fighting corruption. © PID/David Bohmann
