How many Americans are chowing down on Impossible burgers and chugging Heineken 0.0 this BBQ season? Plant-based meat alternatives are everywhere these days (even at Burger King). And the city of Munich recently announced they'll have an alcohol-free "beer" garden at their upcoming Oktoberfest. We used QuestDIY to poll around 1,000 Americans on their opinions about meat alternatives and NA drinks—the findings should be interesting to anyone marketing in these spaces. Reflecting a few weeks out from Stagwell Sport Beach at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, and I can’t stop thinking about this whirlwind week of creativity and connection. I’m a bit biased, but it’s fair to say that Stagwell’s activation was the talk of the (very busy) town. It was impressive by the numbers—over 7,400 visitors flocking to see 170 speakers, including 30 top-tier athletes, across 32 main stage panels. But in a less tangible way, Sport Beach was simply an invaluable opportunity to experience the bleeding-edge of technology, sports, and marketing. I want to thank ARound CEO and Founder Josh Beatty; VP of Global Marketing at Meta Reality Labs Shachar Scott; and Los Angeles Rams CCO Jennifer Prince for joining me for Thursday’s rousing discussion of how AR and VR are leveling up the experience for sports fans. (Shachar, I need to get my hands on a pair of those Ray-Ban smart glasses...) A few other highlights that made this an unforgettable week: meeting up with past NYU Stern School of Business classmates and Uber colleagues who are still delivering game-changing work, hearing the one and only Draymond Green talk about his evolution as a podcaster, and listening to our current and prospective customers on how our team and technology can best empower them to perform.
