  • Volunteers are paid in six figures: S-M-I-L-E-S 😃 It was all smiles as we welcomed volunteers from Toward Maixmum Independence (TMI), a nonprofit that works with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. “TMI is a valuable addition to the Southwest Healthcare Auxiliary Volunteer Organization here at Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital and Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital,” shared Brian Connors, Director of Marketing for #SouthwestHealthcare. “Their ability to take on tasks with a cheerful heart and attention to detail has been remarkable. They are organized and willing to step in and contribute to whatever is asked of them,” Connors said. “We look forward to additional opportunities to have them serve in a variety of other tasks throughout our hospitals.” Learn more about this amazing partnership in below article from The Press Enterprise 👇 READ MORE: http://spklr.io/6049se1v Are you compassionate about helping others and making a difference in our community? • Toot! Toot! 📯 We’re always a little sheepish about tooting our own horn, in spite of how proud we feel about the work we do. With that said, we’ll step out of our comfort zone, and we’ll let Adela do the tooting: "Being new to the area, I was anxious about where to have my baby. The compassion and professionalism showed by the staff was amazing and put me at ease. When I was having difficulty with breastfeeding my baby, the nurses stepped in to work me to make sure my baby was being fed properly, and I was comfortable with what I was doing. Though this is my seventh child, I had not breastfed before. They treated me like a person and listened to my needs. It was a beautiful experience and that really touched my heart." Whether you are a mama-to-be or mom of seven, you deserve compassionate care that is personalized to you and your baby. Did you or a loved one experience the same exceptional care? Share your story and leave us a Google review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: https://g.co/kgs/EEwHBCp #NationalBreastfeedingMonth #FamilyBirthCenterRS #WomensHealthServices #PatientCare #CompassionateHealing #HealthinHarmony

  • OUCH! 🤕 Sudden illness or injury can occur without warning, and while no one typically plans a trip to the Emergency Department (ED), everyone should know what to expect after they arrive. Step 1️⃣ – Triage Triage is the process of determining the severity of a patient’s condition. Patients with the most severe emergencies receive immediate treatment. That is why some patients may receive medical care before you, even if they arrived at the ED after you. Step 2️⃣ – Registration The registration process is important for two reasons: it lets the ED staff gather information for your patient record and obtain your consent for treatment. Both are necessary for ordering diagnostic tests to enable the physician to determine your best treatment option. Step 3️⃣ – Treatment Depending on your condition, a registered nurse may start an intravenous (IV) line. The IV line will allow the nursing staff to quickly administer medications or fluids that may be ordered by a physician. A nurse or technician may also take blood or urine samples, or they may send you for an X-ray or other imaging test before a physician sees you. During treatment, the staff in the ED will help make sure you are comfortable and informed. Step 4️⃣ – Reevaluation Your condition will be reevaluated after test results come back because the results may give the physician additional insight into the type of treatment you need. The staff may also contact your primary care physician for additional information. Step 5️⃣ – Discharge Part of our job is to keep you healthy long after you have left the ED. All patients receive written home-care instructions to follow when discharged. The instructions describe how you can safely care for your wound or illness, directions for prescribed medications and recommendations for follow-up medical care. If you’re having a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room. Double-tap ❤ if you found this helpful. #SouthwestHealthcare #HealthInHarmony #CompassionateHealing
