Our business development team recently came together in Tacoma, Washington, for building business strategy and collegiality. For some, it was their first time to the Pacific Northwest, or the PNW — and it offered some much-needed context for why Sound is called Sound. Tacoma, a port city, is situated on Puget Sound — along with its bigger-city neighbor, Seattle. The team enjoyed views of all the PNW classics: the Sound, Mt. Rainier, and, of course, Pike Place’s legendary fish market. We’re lucky to have such an incredible team that shows up for each other and for all of Sound. Cheers to forging strong bonds, inspiring new ideas, and staying true to our mission of bringing better to the bedside.

Our team had an incredible time at the 2024 AANA event in San Diego, California, this past weekend. On Sunday, we hosted an event at Barleymash, where conference attendees were able to meet Sound’s CRNA leaders and learn more about our care philosophy and culture. We had around 520 people attend outside of our Sound team, and the event featured live music with a DJ and drinks. It was a fun night filled with great conversation, showcasing the vibrant and inclusive culture we pride ourselves on. Thanks to everyone who came out. Join us in celebrating Dr. Amar Ahmed, a full-time Sound hospitalist with Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for being recognized with the prestigious Mercy Pin-It Forward Award. This award honors those who embody The Mercy Touch through integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.   "Dr. Ahmed's positive energy is very catching," said Dr. Sujan Vadarevu, Program Chief. "He recently had a stressful family situation in Sudan, but regardless, he continued to have a big smile on his face while interacting with his peers, the nursing staff, and care coordinators in a positive manner. On any given day, he always has a positive story to share."   Thank you, Dr. Ahmed for your efforts in bringing better to the bedside and, again, congratulations!
