The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is the world’s leading member-driven organization specifically dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy. sitc_log_color.png Established in 1984, SITC, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, serves scientists, clinicians, academicians, patients, patient advocates, government representatives and industry leaders from around the world. Through educational programs that foster scientific exchange and collaboration, SITC aims to one day make the word “cure” a reality for cancer patients everywhere. Currently, SITC has more than 2,000 members who represent 22 medical specialties in 42 countries around the world. Through emphasis on high-caliber scientific meetings; dedication to education and outreach activities; focus on initiatives of major importance in the field; and commitment to collaborations with like-minded domestic and international organizations, government and regulatory agencies, associations and patient advocacy groups, SITC brings together all aspects of the cancer immunology and immunotherapy community. Delighted to be back in Shanghai for the 1st World Immunotherapy Council (WIC)-Asian Chapter (WIC-Asia) Conference. WIC-Asia, in collaboration with Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) , brought together young investigators from throughout #Asia to share their latest research discoveries, meet with leaders in the field of #cancer #immunotherapy, and build lasting connections. Day one featured talks from young investigators representing #Taiwan, #HongKong, #China (#CSCO & #TIBIT:CSI) #Singapore, #Japan, #Vietnam, #Thailand, #Malaysia, and #India. Day two saw lectures from Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) President-elect James Gulley MD PhD FACP, as well as the IASLC FOUNDATION President elect Dr. Caicun Zhou. Other speakers included Drs. Jerome Galon, poh sheng, Joe YEONG, Michael Lotze, Jian Han Rom Leidner, plus leaders in leaders in the field from across #China including Drs. Cheng Sun, Yiwei chu, Bo Zhu, Hongbin Ji , Zhang Yi , and Qiang Gao. Dr. Zhaodong Li, from the editorial board of Cancer Cell also spoke. I believe this 1st WIC-Asia conference was a successful step to strengthen relationships between the cancer immunotherapy communities in this region of Asia and the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), and will ultimately lead to an acceleration in the delivery of better treatments for patients with cancer. #FINISHCANCER
